Judy Sullivan, Executive Director

Judy held the position of Executive Director of KAP for four years before she took over that role with Hill Country Cares and brought KAP into the HCC management structure.  Before working with abused children, Judy managed wide- ranging services and large staffs for MHMR.  She was the energy pump behind KAP operations and she currently brings that energetic, can-do style to HCC.  While still watching over KAP and attending MDT meetings, Judy stays busy with managing HCC's day-to-day operations, fundraising, community relations, grant writing, and works closely with the HCC Board of Directors on all budgetary decision-making.  Her ability to motivate is one of her strongest assets.

Patsy Lackey, Family CARES Coordinator

Patsy is a native of Kerrville and longstanding joined the staff in 1996 as the Family CARES Coordinator. She oversees the operations of the shelter and the advocacy programs for clients needing protective orders or assistance in filing for divorce. Patsy serves at the appointment of the county judge as Kerr County's representative on AACOG's criminal justice division. In her time away from work, she volunteers with the American Legion Auxiliary as District President and soon to be President of the 4th Division. A proud parent of two adult children and five grandchildren, all living in Kerrville.

Suzanne Tomerlin, Volunteer Coordinator / Public Relations

Suzanne took over this position in May of 2013, having previously been the Victim Advocate at Hill Country CARES.  She holds a BBA in Economics and Accounting from Texas Tech University and a BA in Psychology from Schreiner.  She was previously a victim advocate in West Texas at the Rape Crisis/Victim Services Center, and worked in the children's speech and hearing research department at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. Most recently, Suzanne was self-employed in the entertainment industry before joining us here.

Brent Ives, KAP Coordinator

Brent Ives took over the controls at Kid's Advocacy Place in August of 2010.  Brent's career started with his educational background when he graduated from Sam Houston State in 1994 with a BA in Criminal Justice.  He worked with the Dallas County Youth Village, a childcare facility, for two years before becoming a Juvenile Probation Officer, where he served for seven years.  Brent's wife, Amy, and their two daughters moved to Kerrville in November of 2003 after falling in love with the area following a family visit to the Hill Country.  Brent served as a Family Specialist with Kerrville's K'STAR Youth & Family Services for more than six years and fine-tuned his skills by working with families in crisis through counseling. Brent's presence at KAP has had an energizing effect and his calm, steady demeanor seems perfectly suited to the demands found in working with abused young people.
